Police officers with post-traumatic stress disorder
Published on:Wednesday, February 22, 2012 - 12:03
It's well known that soldiers returning from war are likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). But the same seems to be the case for Dutch police officers who have to deal with situations that can cause psychological trauma.
Both Rick Franx and Ellis de Koning developed PTSD while working as police officers. They say that instead of being offered help, they were forced out of their jobs.
