The 18th Chinese Communist Party Congress has kicked off in Beijing. Many people, including writers and journalists, hope it will lead to an increase in freedom of speech and of the press.

Murong Xuecun is a dissident novelist and a strong opponent of censorship, but he still has to submit for official scrutiny before they can be published.
