Dutch emigration on the rise

In 2011, the Dutch government decided to cut funding and shift RNW from the ministry of Education, Culture and Science to the ministry of Foreign Affairs. Growing numbers of people are emigrating from the Netherlands. Last year, over 140,000 people left this country, and experts predict the figure will rise again this year. The main reason for the increasing emigration is the economic crisis in the Netherlands.
