More humane slaughter techniques for Dutch chickens

The Dutch poultry processing industry has asked the University of Wageningen to help it develop a more humane technique to anaesthetise chickens before they are slaughtered. Currently Dutch chickens are electrically stunned in a water-bath. But this method is controversial because not all the chickens are anaethetised before they are slaughtered.
