Intern Communications

In a challenging, international and dynamic environment

24-36 hours/week for 4-6 months

Purpose of the position 

Support the internal and external communication of RNW Media, with a strong focus on social media.

As a Communications Intern you embrace a 21st mindset with a focus on Entrepreneurship, Initiative, Flexibility, Ownership, Communication, Social and Cultural Awareness, Curiosity, Quality and Critical Thinking.


You will contribute to: 

  • Updating and contributing to the social media content calendars under guidance of the Social Media Expert;
  • Crafting posts and scheduling in posts for social media channels;
  • Engaging with social media users (RNW Media);
  • Creating succinct monthly social media analytics reports with recommendations for improving engagement and reach on social media channels;
  • Supporting in designing press events with relevant (international) media and key influencers across the media sector;
  • Supporting production of promotional and communications products;
  • Supporting various internal and external events and other communications projects.


Knowledge and experience 

  • 2nd or 3rd year of studies in Communications on a university level or 3rd year of studies in Communications on HBO educational level (Higher Vocational Studies);
  • You are a communications and social media natural;
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written;
  • Knowledge of social media tools for scheduling and analytics;
  • Knowledge of content management software (WordPress);
  • Experience in supporting representation in (international) events
  • Excellent in English;
  • A passion for human rights.

An interesting and exciting internship as of March 2022 (flexible starting date) that offers responsibility and room for development, for 24-36 hours a week with a monthly allowance.

You become part of a young and multi-cultural team of highly skilled professionals representing several countries. You will be working hybrid from home and from our office in Haarlem.
