RNW Media is looking for a:

DIGITAL PRODUCT MANAGER

In a challenging, international and dynamic environment

Purpose of the position 

The Digital Product Manager defines the release process and identifies the cross-functional activities necessary to bring the digital products (or features) in externally funded projects. The Digital Product Manager provides technical direction  by working with a flex pool of experts. They ensure that appropriate software engineering practices are used. They advise RNW Media and its partners on continuous improvements and tooling, and through the entire lifecycle of a product/service. The Digital Product Manager advices RNW Media with organisational ICT matters.

Your responsibilities will be: 

  • Act as a primary liaison between subject matter experts and digital experts. Works with experts and partners worldwide in order to co-develop digital media products and services;
  • Be responsible for both strategic and tactical activities and is able to easily context-switch between an internal and external focus;
  • Lead the cross-functional digital product/service team by working closely with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Develop and communicate the digital product vision and plans to stakeholders invested in the success of the product;
  • Ensure the continuous and safe operational uptime of RNW Media’s digital environment;
  • Advise RNW Media partners on issues related to quality, digital safety and security;
  • Provide advice on digital and ICT technical infrastructure strategies for RNW Media and its partners (e.g. Afas, web hosting) and co-define standards and execution plans;
  • Take the responsibility for assigned projects as project lead;
  • Use their digital expertise to support project teams with the implementation of projects.

 

Knowledge and experience 

“Must have”

  • Preferably a Master’s degree in Digital/Technical/IT Strategic Management or related field;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the digital or IT sector, preferably in an international setting;
  • Ability to work and supervise a flex pool of digital experts (e.g. (web) developers);
  • Strong digital project management expertise;
  • Knowledge of, or a background in web development (PHP, JavaScript, WordPress, HTML, CSS, etc.);
  • Proven track record of work and management with service providers and subject matter experts;
  • Preferably experience in project management with focus on digital project management;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Fluent in English.

“Good to have”

  • Experience in an Agile/SCRUM environment;
  • Experience in working with partners worldwide;
  • Knowledge of Arabic, Spanish or French is considered an asset.

At RNW Media we have a competitive Compensation & Benefits package. This job is graded in salary scale 8 (€ 3.381, – – € 4.795,02). Your salary will be dependent on experience and expertise. We offer a one year contract, subject to renewal.
