Positioning & Visibility Lead

In a challenging, international and dynamic environment   

36 hours/week, hybrid/Haarlem, starting asap  

 

Purpose of the position  

The Positioning and Visibility Lead is responsible for RNW Media’s strategic positioning efforts aiming at showcasing our work and expertise amongst a broad range of stakeholders (RNW Media’s members, strategic partners, donors, alumni, etc.). They keep track of internal and external developments and constantly identify opportunities to promote RNW Media’s work and branded assets (e.g. RNTC) within such contexts. They ensure that there is cohesion in RNW Media’s messaging, reflecting consistent (employer) branding and positioning, ultimately resulting in enhanced visibility of the impact of our work. 

Your responsibilities will be:  

  • Develops positioning, identity and visibility strategies and leads their implementation;
  • Develops consistent (employer) branding and positioning;
  • Ensures strategic positioning amongst a broad range of key stakeholders creating visibility of our work and what we have achieved;
  • Oversees RNW Media’s strategic presence in digital and social media channels ensuring that this reflects RNW Media expertise in digital media;
  • Leads the implementation RNW Media’s market position through benchmarking and strategic communications and visibility-oriented activities;
  • Safeguards RNW Media’s branding and reputation, including cohesion in RNW Media’s branded assets;
  • Contributes to improving the market position of RNW Media through strategic communications and visibility-oriented activities;
  • Leads the creation of content related materials (e.g. website content, briefings, etc.) to support RNW Media’s positioning as a thought leader;
  • Monitors and analyses current events, public opinion and press coverage, identifying issues and trends, and creates strategies for appropriate action/responses.

 

Knowledge and experience: 

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a comparable function in a global organisation;
  • Proven commitment to excellence and successful track record of managing the quality and content of communication and visibility activities;
  • Extensive and successful experience in managing representation for important international events, developing relevant media plans and managing media relationships, developing and reviewing content and delivery of communication tools and instruments;
  • Relationship building skills with an ability to liaise, prioritise, negotiate, and work with a prolific variety of cross-cultural and high profile stakeholders.
  • A Master’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or Advertising with relevant experience and expertise;
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written;
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of another working language is considered an asset;
  • Experience of working with external consultants and strategic partners.

At RNW Media we have a competitive Compensation & Benefits package. This job is graded in salary scale 9 (€ 3833,16 € 5513,10 ). Your salary will be dependent on experience and expertise. We offer a one year contract, subject to renewal.  

As it is a vital position, we are eager to start the process which will be a short concise process. The first round of interviews will be held online on Monday April 3rd.
